During Ability Awareness Week at Daniel Boone Elementary, empathy (the ability to understand and share the feelings of another) is strongly encouraged! This is one of the themes taught by Jamie Peasel, a resource teacher at Daniel Boone, who organized events during Ability Awareness Week to educate students and staff. Like peanut butter and jelly, art and pasta go together wonderfully! On Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, the students at Daniel Boone Elementary displayed their artwork at the spaghetti dinner and art gala. Each year, the PTO plans this event to raise money for a family in need. This year, all of the proceeds went to a Daniel Boone staff member who is battling cancer. The Daniel Boone Community raised over $4,300 during the gala, to help offset medical costs.  READ MORE...

The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) will be dipped in red the week of Oct. 24-28, as schools across the District and the nation celebrate Red Ribbon Week, an event dedicated to raising awareness for alcohol, tobacco, drugs and violence prevention. Many FHSD schools will educate students on drug prevention with special events, activities and fun-themed spirit days.  READ MORE...

Student safety is always a top priority of the Francis Howell School District (FHSD). The District annually conducts a variety of safety drills including fire, tornado, earthquake and intruder drills. Participation in these safety drills is where most students get directly involved in their own safety. The buses that safely transport students of the Francis Howell School District (FHSD) every day will display a special new sticker starting in August, after earning the “Total Fleet Excellence” distinction for 2016. The stickers indicate excellence in the overall maintenance and reliability of the District’s bus fleet. The distinction is determined by the Missouri State Highway Patrol based on the results of the annual school bus inspection, a program conducted by the Patrol’s Motor Vehicle Inspection Division.   READ MORE...
