What better way to end a semester than making a child’s most fervent wish come true? Students, staff, and the community at Daniel Boone Elementary raised money throughout the school year for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, to fulfill a wish for a child named Thomas. What’s his wish? The same as many other children; to go to Disney World and meet Mickey Mouse! On Wednesday, May 17, students, staff, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation gathered in the gymnasium to present Thomas and his family with a check for $5,000, which will cover all of their expenses for the trip to Disney World. The Francis Howell School District is proud to announce that for the second time in the past decade, Francis Howell Middle School (FHMS) has been selected as a National School of Character. Map Testing Begins

The Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) testing for students in the Francis Howell School District will take place during the month of April. MAP tests are mandated by the state, and are intended to help determine what a child knows and is able to do according to the expectations for his or her grade level. Scores on the MAP tests are also used to determine how schools are performing according to state and federal guidelines.  READ MORE...

During Ability Awareness Week at Daniel Boone Elementary, empathy (the ability to understand and share the feelings of another) is strongly encouraged! This is one of the themes taught by Jamie Peasel, a resource teacher at Daniel Boone, who organized events during Ability Awareness Week to educate students and staff.
